1. An aseptic coupling device, comprising:
an inner member defining a fluid passage therethrough; a seal member coupled to a front surface of the inner member, the seal member having a cross-sectional area including a first end portion, a middle portion, and a second end portion opposite the first end portion, the middle portion being thinner in radial dimension than the first and second end portions, the middle portion defining curved inner and outer bounds defined by arcs of two nonconcentric circles when the seal is in an uncompressed relaxed state, the relaxed state occurring when the aseptic coupling device is uncoupled from a mating aseptic coupling device, wherein the center of the circle defining the curved outer bound is located outside the outer bound of the seal; wherein a first radius of the arced outer bound differs from a second radius of the arced inner bound; and a membrane coupled to the front surface of the inner member to cover the seal member.
