The present invention provides a coating composition, comprising: (A) a surface-treated titanium oxide having core/shell type microparticles each consisting of a core of titanium oxide which may be combined with inorganic oxide (except a titanium oxide), and a shell of silicon oxide around the core, which are treated with two surface treating components represented by formula (I): R^1Si(OR^2)_3 (R^1 is an organic group which may have a (meth)acryl group and R^2 is an alkyl group) and formula (II): (R^3R^4_2Si)_2NH (R^3 is an organic group which may have a (meth)acryl group and R^4 is an alkyl group); (B) a vinyl-based copolymer obtained from copolymerization of an alkoxysilyl-containing vinyl-based monomer, a UV-absorbing vinyl-based monomer, and another monomer copolymerizable with the alkoxysilyl-containing vinyl-based monomer and the UV-absorbing vinyl-based monomer; and (C) a solvent, wherein 1 to 50 parts by weight of (A) the surface-treated titanium oxide is present with respect to 100 parts by weight of (B) the vinyl-based copolymer. According to the present invention, a cured film of the composition has improved scratch resistance and UV shielding properties while maintaining transparency of visible light. |
