PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sink a writing part quickly when unnecessary.SOLUTION: In a side knock type writing utensil in which a writing part is extruded by an operation of pressing a pressed piece 51 into a radial inner direction of a shaft cylinder, an inner surface side of the pressed piece 51 is provided with an inclined surface inclining obliquely forward in a radial outer direction and a temporary lock part 54 positioned at the rear side from the inclined surface. An engaging member 40 is provided with a slid contact surface 41a which is slidably in contact with the inclined surface and moved forward until the writing part is extruded and a locked part 44 which can be locked in or unlocked from the temporary lock part 54 at the rear side from the slid contact surface 41a. The temporary lock part 54 and locked part 44 are formed so as to be in contact with each other in a shaft direction of the shaft cylinder when the pressed piece 51 is pressed into the radial inner direction of the shaft cylinder, and to disengage in the radial outer direction of the shaft cylinder as the pressed piece 51 returns to an original state. |
