A mat and a mat assembly having the same are disclosed. According to the present invention, the mat comprises: a first elastic layer shaped into a flat plate and made of cork; a second elastic layer shaped into a flat plate and made of cork; and a cushion layer made of a sponge to be joined to a space between the first and second elastic layers. An external force applied to the first and second elastic layers is absorbed by the bending strain of the first or second elastic layer and the compressive strain of the cushion layer. According to the present invention, provided is a mat to allow infants to safely lie down as the weight of the infants is absorbed by the bending strain of the first or second elastic layer and the compressive strain of the cushion layer interposed between the first and second elastic layers. |
