<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce FPOT (first printout time) and suppress recording materials from being wound around a roller due to a change in the hardness of a roller of a fixing unit in the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an environment detection member that detects the humidity of an environment in which the apparatus is installed, and reduces the standby temperature of a fixing roller 1 when the humidity detected by the environment detection member is decreased to a humidity lower than a threshold humidity. Thus, an increase in the hardness of a fixing roller rubber layer 1b can be suppressed; recording materials can be suppressed from being wound around the roller over time; and the influence on FPOT can be reduced.</p> |
