Provided is an opto-electric hybrid module which is made lighter and more flexible by forming a portion that covers an electric circuit thinner. In this opto-electric hybrid module, a liner core (2) for an optical path and an electric circuit (4) having a pad for mounting (4a) are formed on the surface of an under cladding layer (1) of an optical waveguide (W). An optical element (5) is mounted such that an electrode (5a) thereof is in contact with the pad for mounting (4a). The core (2) for an optical path is covered by an over cladding layer (3), and the central part of the optical element (5) is positioned above a portion of the over cladding layer (3), said portion covering the top surface of the core (2). Portions of the electric circuit (4) other than the pad for mounting (4a) and the surface portion of the under cladding layer (1) between electric circuits (4) are covered by a core material (2a) that is formed of a material for the core (2). |
