The objective of the invention is to cause a device, which complies with a predetermined communication protocol, to execute a function that is equivalent to a timer function without using any commands that are defined by the predetermined communication protocol. A communication terminal (13) of the invention controls a device, which is to be controlled by a signal communicated by use of a predetermined communication protocol, via a network. The communication terminal (13) comprises: a storage unit (35) that stores a basic operation application (41) and a timer operation application (42); and a control unit (35) that executes processings based on the basic operation application (41) and timer operation application (42). The basic operation application (41) uses the signal, which has been communicated by use of the predetermined communication protocol, to cause the device to execute a basic function. The timer operation application (42) instructs, at a timer-set time, the basic operation application (41) to use the signal, which has been communicated by use of the predetermined communication protocol, to cause the device to execute the basic function. |
