PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for producing a sheet fused body, in each of which the sheet fused body is produced, the sealed edge part of which body is made excellent in flexibility and skin texture and which body has practically-satisfactory fusion strength while effectively preventing inconvenience such as ignition caused by resin fumes.SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing the sheet fused body includes: a supporting member which has a first plane 21a and a second plane 21b and is used for supporting a sheet laminate 10 on the first plane 21a over the longitudinal direction thereof; and an irradiation head 30 disposed on the second plane 21b side of the supporting member 21. The supporting member 21 has a laser beam 30-transmittable slit-shaped opening 27. An air suction part for sucking air from the opening 27 is disposed adjacently to the slit-shaped opening 27 at the position of the supporting member 21 on the first plane 21a side.
