PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably remove a dark current component when pixel signals are added to be read out from an imaging element.SOLUTION: Pixel signals are read out from a photometric sensor of a single lens reflex camera while being added. Pixel signal reading at an addition number 1 and an addition number 2 are alternately performed along a column direction or row direction for effective pixels. On the other hand, also for OB pixels, pixel signal reading according to the addition number of corresponding effective pixels is performed. A dark current component is removed by subtracting OB pixel signals from the effective pixel signals.
