摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely execute focus detection by suppressing erroneous detection of an image shift quantity when executing the focus detection through phase difference detection.SOLUTION: A phase difference AF processing unit 135 applies first filter processing to a first image signal and a second image signal with a prescribed first frequency band, and applies second filer processing with a second frequency band higher than the first frequency band. The phase difference AF processing unit obtains each first image shift quantity in the first and second image signals after the application of the first filer processing, obtains each second image shift quantity showing each image shift quantity in the first and second image signals after the application of the second filer processing, selects either one of the first image shift quantity and the second image shift quantity according to whether or not the first image shift quantity is equal to or higher than a reference image shift quantity determined in accordance with a photographing condition, and then calculates a defocus quantity in accordance with the selected image shift quantity.</p>
