<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary apparatus including a rotor and a housing which are disposed rotatable relatively around an axial line, and an electromagnet which is fixed to the housing and opposite to the rotor. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotary apparatus, gaps between the rotor and the housing and between the rotor and the electromagnet are filled with a magnetic viscous fluid of which the viscosity is improved when a magnetic path passes through the fluid by the electromagnet. The magnetic viscous fluid contains magnetic particles including nanosized magnetizable metal nanoparticles. A part of a surface of the electromagnet and/or the rotor in contact with the magnetic viscous fluid is composed of a non-magnetic insulator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
