Disclosed is a method for a wireless data terminal to support Internet Protocol Version 4/Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv4/IPv6) dual stacks, comprising: a wireless data terminal mapping a modem (Modem) port with a network driver interface specification (NDIS) port at a user terminal; and the wireless data terminal receiving an instruction for establishing a network connection, initiating a PDP context activation request toward a network which is expected to be connected by a user, and establishing the network connection according to the mapped ports after the network successfully responds to the PDP context activation request. Also disclosed at the same time is a wireless data terminal supporting IPv4/IPv6 dual stacks. Using the technical solution in the embodiments of the present invention, a user can simultaneously access a user terminal in IPv4/IPv6 networks via a wireless data terminal, and can access it in the IPv4 network or the IPv6 network as well as required. |
