The gaze direction-detecting device according to the present technology comprises: a detection unit for detecting the gaze of the driver; an assessment unit for outputting second gaze information about what the driver is gazing at steadily from first gaze information detected by the detection unit; and a generating unit for creating a gaze distribution from the second gaze information output by the assessment unit. The device is also provided with a correction unit for correcting the first gaze information detected by the detection unit. The correction unit calculates a correction parameter from a previously set standard distribution and the gaze distribution created by the generating unit and corrects the first gaze information detected by the detection unit using the correction parameter.
