<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique concerning a method for manufacturing a can body, in which occurrence of flow line-like defects can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a high strength plate material for a can body includes: carrying out homogenization and soaking treatment of an aluminum alloy ingot having a specific composition and then carrying out hot rolling, cold rolling, and continuous annealing, and then carrying out final cold rolling to obtain a plate thickness of≥0.23 mm and≤0.4 mm. The homogenization is carried out at 555-580°C for 1-12 hours; the soaking treatment is carried out at 535-555°C for 1 hour or more; the total time for the homogenization and the soaking treatment is 40 hours or less; the rolling reduction rate of the last pass in the hot rolling is≤(85-0.08T)% (wherein T represents a temperature (°C) of a coiled plate just after taken up from the final hot rolling mill); the temperature of the coiled plate just after taken up from the hot rolling machine is≥270°C and≤460°C; and the rolling reduction in the first cold rolling is≥40%, and the reduction rate in the final cold rolling is≥55% and≤70%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
