This vehicle door opening/closing device is provided with: a transmission gear configured in a manner so as to be driven to rotate by a motor; a pulley disposed coaxially to the transmission gear and configured in a manner so as to cause the opening/closing operation of the vehicle door by means of moving a rope member concomitantly with the rotation of the pulley; an output member disposed coaxially with the transmission gear, and configured in a manner so as to cause, concomitantly with the rotation thereof, a door lock to be in a holding state of holding the vehicle door or a released state of releasing the holding of the vehicle door; a first clutch that is housed in the pulley coaxially with the transmission gear and that selectively permits and cuts off the transmission of rotation between the transmission gear and the pulley; and a second clutch that is housed in the transmission gear coaxially with the transmission gear and that selectively permits and cuts off the transmission of rotation between the transmission gear and the output member.
