The present invention provides a method for regenerating a secondary battery. When the average thickness of an oxidized layer formed on a surface of an active material of a negative electrode of the secondary battery is less than a predetermined standard, the level of the degradation of the negative electrode is judged low. When the average thickness of the oxidized layer is the predetermined standard or more, the level of the degradation of the negative electrode is judged high.
Then, an electrolyte is only supplemented without performing a reducing treatment when the level of the degradation of a negative electrode is low, and
when the level of the degradation of said negative electrode is high, either a reducing agent is added to said electrolyte, or said negative electrode is taken from a battery container and is subjected to a reducing treatment. |
