The present invention provides an image-based active control system for an accident prevention and reduction, which is capable of recognizing a pedestrian and a surrounding environment using image information, and performing an operation of the accident prevention according to a dangerous situation determination, and an injury decrease operation which enables injuries of a driver and a pedestrian to be decreased immediately after the accident occurs. The system comprises: an around view monitoring device for photographing all images around 360 degrees of a vehicle through a plurality of cameras installed in the vehicle, and recognizing a situation around the vehicle by processing the photographed image; a sensing device for recognizing a vehicle state and the situation around the vehicle through a plurality of sensors installed in the vehicle; and a controller for calculating an accident possibility and an obstacle collision possibility by collecting/processing information from the around view monitoring device and the sensing device, sequentially performing a warning operation, a free brake operating and a full brake operation according to the accident possibility, and performing an injury decrease operation using an electric seat belt at the time of an obstacle collision. |
