A tubing assembly 202 for a peristaltic pump may be single lumen tubing or may have two, three or more lumens (the tubing shown in fig.20B has two lumens). A pump tubing gripper/lock 203a, 203b is inserted into each end of the tubing; adapter/external system interfaces 206a, 206b are then overmolded onto each end the tubing assembly. Each interface 206a, 206b may comprise an annular surface defining a flow passage, a tubing interface portion and a pump interface portion. The adapter portion 351, fig.38, of the tubing assembly 350 may have a tube identifier portion 354 which can be viewed through a magnifying portion 364 of cover 362 of the pump 360. The tubing assembly can provide a flow rate or volume capacity that is generally equal to or greater than that achieved with a comparable prior art tube while operating at higher pressures. Further, the tubing assembly can achieve a longer working life and the load on the pump motor can be reduced such that the pump life is increased and/or a larger pump motor is not required. |
