A quick-setting cement comprises a dehydrated metal dihydrogen phosphate and a metal oxide, where the metal may be zinc, magnesium, barium, calcium, aluminium, iron, cadmium, or strontium, in admixture with water. The oxide combines with phosphoric acid liberated during setting. An excess of 5-20% of oxide may be employed. 11-20 cc of water per 100 gm of solid may be employed. In Examples I and II, calcium dihydrogen phosphate dehydrated at 200-250 DEG C. is mixed with zinc oxide. In Example III, zinc dihydrogen phosphate dehydrated at 170-220 DEG C. is mixed with zinc oxide. |
