An airbag arrangement for a vehicle comprising a curtain airbag and an engagement portion on a seat. The curtain airbag 20 has portions 22 shaped to engage a complementary portion 42 of the seat 2 when deployed. The interaction of the shaped portions 22, 42 is such that when they are engaged they assist in securing the airbag in place. The engagement portions 42 on the seat 2 can be a hook-shaped. The shaped portion 23 on the airbag 20 complements this by defining an opening (24, fig 2b) into which the hook 40 will engage. The opening (24, fig 2b) may pass through the airbag fully or only partially. The arrangement may work by the airbag acting to clamp the seat part (2, fig 4b) between two parts (50, fig 4b) of the airbag with supplementary material. An aim of the invention is to reduce the chance of exiting the vehicle. |
