An image correction apparatus comprising: an image projection unit to sequentially project light of a red color component of a first input image, a green color component of the first input image, and a blue color component of the first input image onto a projection surface at different intervals within a predetermined frame of a predetermined duration; an image acquisition unit to acquire, at the different intervals within the predetermined frame, nine color components comprising the projected red color component, an overlapping RG color component between the projected red color component and the projected green color component, an overlapping RB color component between the projected red color component and the projected blue color component, an overlapping GR color component between the projected green color component and the projected red color component, the projected green color component, an overlapping GB color component between the projected green color component and the projected blue color component, an overlapping BR color component between the projected blue color component and the projected red color component, an overlapping BG color component between the projected blue color component and the projected green color component, and the projected blue color component; and an image correction unit to correct the color components or geometry of a second input image based on a comparison of the acquired nine color components with the color components of the first input image.
