A COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVED RECOVERY AGAINST EXPOSURE TO GAMMA-RADIATION

The present disclosure relates to a composition for enhancing the recovery of subjects exposed to lethal or sub-lethal levels of y-radiation as assessed by whole body survival, organ and cellular function in a mice model and cellular DNA in human blood cells. In particular, the present disclosure provides a composition of podophyllotoxin and podophyllotoxin glucoside isolated that provides enhanced functional benefits in subjects exposed to lethal radiation doses. The present disclosure further provides a mode of affording protection to subjects prior to radiation exposure.
