<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system and a storage control method capable of accelerating a write response.SOLUTION: A storage system includes: a memory area; a cache memory area; and a processor. The memory area stores therein a temporal relation between a data element stored in the cache memory area and to be written to a logical area and snapshot acquisition timing of acquiring a snapshot image of a positive volume. The processor determines whether the data element in the cache memory area is a snapshot constituent element on the basis of temporal relation information on the data element stored in the cache memory area and to be written to the logical area that is a write destination in response to a write request that designates the positive volume. If a determination result is yes, the processor saves the data element in a sub-volume for holding the snapshot image constituted by the snapshot constituent element and then stores the write target data element in the cache memory area.</p> |
