Class 52(5) A bracket or like clamp, comprising a front wall with rearwardly extending longitudinally grooved side-cheeks designed to slide freely vertically on a teesectional front of a supporting member, is formed of two pieces, with overlapping wall parts 2, 2<SP>1</SP> forming the front wall, and each carrying a side cheek 3 and 3<SP>1</SP> respectively. The pieces are moved laterally to engage with the supporting member 9, the piece 1<SP>1</SP> above the piece 1 and then moved longitudinally towards one another interlocking by means of a downwardly extending lip 8 on wall part 2<SP>1</SP> fitting into a recess 6 in wall part 2. The pieces are provided with concentric holes 11 and 11<SP>1</SP> respectively, 11 fitted with a female screw, so that the clamp may be fixed in any position by inserting a grub-screw in 11 and 11<SP>1</SP> and tightening it against 9. Hole 11<SP>1</SP> is slightly larger than hole 11, and the screw may extend into hole 11<SP>1</SP> after tightening. The supporting member can be fitted with holes 9<SP>1</SP> so that it may be attached to a wall &c. by screws. The invention may be used in conjunction with the support members described in Specification 792,621. |
