摘要 Both parts are arranged with their connecting faces in contact. The copper or copper alloy component(2) overlaps the edges and creates a rim(5) projecting perpendicularly from the contact face and encircling the steel or steel alloy component(3). Both components are then thermally welded together in a vacuum by directing an electron beam at the joining plane through the overlapping copper rim. Independent claims are included for: a) a method for manufacturing a machine nozzle comprising a nozzle tip of hardened tool steel and a copper or copper alloy shaft using the claimed connecting method in which: i) a hardened steel nozzle tip(3) and a cylindrical intermediate copper component(2) forming a shaft are manufactured so that the latter forms a projecting rim(5) around the nozzle tip; ii) both components are welded together in a vacuum without use of additives to form a blank; iii) the product blank is turned to final size; iv) an axial conical bore is made through the product, preferably by eroding; b) a product blank comprising a copper-based intermediate component overlapping the edge of steel-based nozzle tip; c) a machine nozzle with internal heating.
