<p>Provided is a display device for a portable terminal, comprising a manipulation acceptance unit which is positioned in a prescribed range from the outer edge of a casing body, and a second sensing unit which senses a location upon the manipulation acceptance unit whereupon a touch manipulation is made. The display unit has a display region on the part of the casing body outside of the prescribed range. According to the location where the touch manipulation is made as sensed with the second sensing unit, a control unit causes the display unit to display a designating image for designating a manipulation input location. The control unit accepts a determination manipulation via the second sensing unit, and upon the acceptance of the determination manipulation, carries out a process corresponding to the manipulation input location designated by the designating image. The display device for the portable terminal accepts a manipulation input on the manipulation acceptance unit which is positioned in a range which can be reached by a thumb and displays the designating image, thereby being able to accept determination manipulations at manipulation input locations within a range not reachable by the thumb.</p> |
