<p>The objective of the invention is to achieve both the reduction of power consumption and the improvement of device detection accuracy in a communication apparatus. A communication unit executes, at each of a plurality of detection timings, one of a normal polling process, in which a request that requests a response is transmitted to a target device, thereby detecting, from whether the response is received or not, whether the target device is present or not, or a power-saving polling process in which a magnetic field is generated, thereby detecting, from a variation amount of the magnetic field, whether the target device is present or not within the magnetic field. A control unit controls the interval between the plurality of detection timings on the basis of target device detection results in the respective ones of the normal polling process and the power-saving polling process.</p> |
