PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of inspecting durability of a membrane electrode assembly to be used for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell.SOLUTION: A durability inspection apparatus for inspecting durability of a membrane electrode assembly to be used for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell includes: voltage application means which applies a voltage from one surface to the other surface of the membrane electrode assembly; current measurement means which measures a current flowing from the one surface to the other surface by the voltage applied; and a control section which controls the voltage application means to apply a voltage to the membrane electrode assembly while sweeping the voltage across a plurality of voltage areas in a row, and causes the applied voltage to be swept at a lower speed in a first voltage area where a peak due to carbon oxidization is included in a current value measured by the current measurement means, than some other voltage areas including no first voltage area.
