<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a coating liquid for lithium ion battery separators which makes possible to increase the productivity of a lithium ion battery separator by reducing a coating liquid soaking through a nonwoven fabric base and out of the backside thereof when providing, on a nonwoven fabric base, a coating layer including inorganic particles and an organic polymer binder; and a separator produced by coating a nonwoven fabric base with such a coating liquid, having a reduced number of pin holes, and achieving a high productivity.SOLUTION: A coating liquid for lithium ion battery separators is to be used for coating a nonwoven fabric base. The coating liquid comprises: an inorganic pigment; an organic polymer binder; and cellulose fiber. The cellulose fiber is at least one kind of fiber selected from a group consisting of bacteria cellulose fiber, nanocellulose fiber and fine cellulose fiber having a suspension stability of 30% or more. A lithium ion battery separator is produced by coating a nonwoven fabric base with the coating liquid.</p> |
