This oil separator is equipped with: a drainage tank that has a bottom wall and retains oil separated from compressed natural gas (CNG); and a sensor that is disposed on the drainage tank so as to be positioned above the bottom wall, thereby detecting the position of the liquid surface in the drainage tank. In addition, the oil separator is equipped with a flange section that is disposed between the sensor and the bottom wall inside the drainage tank.
