<p>Application of the invention provides an improved surface treatment method for seamless discharge of gas from grooves of uneven structure formed on the surface of a casting roll, and a manufactured casting roll thereby. The improved surface treatment method according to application of the invention includes an uneven structure forming step to form a number of concavities on the surface of the casting roll; and a plating step to form a plating layer through an electroplating method to form convexities on the edge of concavities formed in the said uneven structure forming step. According to application of the invention, an etching solution that comprises 10 to 20 wt.% of peroxydisulfuric acid ammonium; 0.1 wt.% of phosphoric acid or phosphorous acid compound; 0.1 to 5% wt.% of chloric acid type compound; 0.1 to 5 wt.% of nitric acid or sulfonic acid compound; 0.1 to 3 wt.% of azole type compound; 0.1 to 2 wt.% of fluorine compound; and 55 to 89.5 wt.% of water.</p> |
