In one embodiment, a method of connecting to a client computing device is provided. The method is performed at a computing device, and in this method a connection is made to the client computing device. An inventory of the client computing device is then accessed. This inventory is stored in a storage device accessible by way of a computer network. Here, the storage device is separate from the client computing device and the computing device. A connection failure between the computing device and the client computing device is detected and thereafter, the inventory from the storage device is retrieved by way of the computer network. A reconnection to the client computing device can then be made based on the retrieved inventory. |

1. A method of connecting to a client computing device, the method being performed at a computing device, the method comprising:
connecting to the client computing device; accessing an inventory of the client computing device, the client computing device inventory comprising one or more attributes associated with the client computing device; storing the client computing device inventory in a storage device accessible by way of a computer network, the storage device being separate from the client computing device and the computing device; detecting, after storing the client computing device inventory, a connection failure between the computing device and the client computing device; retrieving, based on the detecting of the connection failure, the client computing device inventory from the storage device by way of the computer network; and reconnecting to the client computing device based on use of at least one attribute of the retrieved inventory. |
