PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue the operation of an article conveyance device with a simple mechanism when a failure occurs in a conveyance device which conveys an article between a first article storage region and a second article storage region.SOLUTION: An article conveyance device includes: a first conveyance device for conveying an article in a first article storage region and a second article storage region; a second conveyance device for conveying an article between the first article storage region and the second article storage region; an alternative motive power supply part for supplying motive power exhibited by a motive power unit disposed in the first conveyance device to the second conveyance device; and a motive power switching part for switching the motive power source of the second conveyance device from the motive power unit disposed in the second conveyance device to the alternative motive power supply part in accordance with the operation of the first conveyance device. When a failure occurs in the second conveyance device, the second conveyance device is driven by the motive power unit of the first conveyance device so that it is possible to continue the operation of the article conveyance device. |
