The present invention relates to a processing apparatus and method of partial discharge diagnosis for gas insulated switchgear capable of measuring and diagnosing the state of insulation and deterioration within an electric utility in real time using high pressure gas as an insulating media, comprising: a partial discharge detecting part to detect a partial discharge generated by internal electric defect; a signal processing part to process analog signals of the detected partial discharge as a partial discharge signals of digital signals; a partial discharge counting part to count the next partial discharge without counting even if exceeding standard value for certain time after the first discharge pulse counting; a controlling part to control a partial discharge alarm in case of an excessive value by determining whether the size of pattern signal and the number of partial discharge data from the result of an analysis on the partial discharge data; and a discharge alarming part to sound the alarm informing that a partial discharge data is generated according to the control of the controlling part.
