PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a hydrodynamic bearing pump which can determine the behavior of a rotation body of a hydrodynamic bearing pump with a hydrodynamic bearing pump being operated.SOLUTION: A hydrodynamic bearing pump 1 includes a casing 60, a rotation body 10 rotatably supported on an inner face of the casing 60 and rotating without contacting with the casing 60 by variation of outside magnetic field, and an impeller 18 provided on the rotation body 10. An inspection method for the hydrodynamic bearing pump 1 includes a contact detection step of detecting contact between the rotation body 10 and the casing 60.
