<p>A visual exploratory query method for multidimensional data analysis in the field of business intelligence. The method consists of one query condition area having a plurality of dimensional attribute values placed therein at the same time, and a plurality of dimensional areas having only a statistical chart associated with one dimension placed therein. Through the interactive operations of the displayed chart of the dimensional area, a user realizes data drilling along the dimension, alters the attributes of the dimension in the dimensional area, and directly triggers a new query as well as refreshing of data and statistic charts. The attribute values of a plurality of dimensions in the query condition area are combined together to create a set of query conditions affecting data subsets displayed in each dimensional area. The method is applicable for the associative design of a plurality of statistical charts in multidimensional data visualization, analysis and query in various fields, especially in the case where a multidimensional data set is already designed into an OLAP cube.</p> |
