PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folded imaging optical system which has a bending element for bending object light rays, a post-bending lens system located on an optical axis after being bent by the bending element, and an image sensor for acquiring an object image formed by the post-bending lens system, and which offers both a reduced F-number and reduced thickness.SOLUTION: A folded imaging optical system has a thickness that is further reduced by cutting out, in reference to an optical axial light ray effective radius, a specific portion of an effective optical surface (a surface through which light rays associated with image forming pass) of a lens within an optical axial light ray radius (in another words, by cutting a portion of light rays associated with image forming). |
