PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing technique of a rotor for a steam turbine capable of improving hydrogen cracking resistance with respect to predetermined object portions out of the rotor for the steam turbine.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a manufacturing method of a rotor 10 constituting a steam turbine 1 has a step of reducing residual stress with respect to object portions 20 out of the rotor 10 in comparison with the other portions thereof.
