PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine for a vehicle which enables stable load dump protection operation, and capable of shortening the time required to be restored to a normal voltage.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 100 for a vehicle includes a field winding 2, stator windings 1A, 1B, MOS module group 3A, 3B as a power converter, and a control circuit 8 containing an LD determination part 82 and an LD processing part 84. The LD processing part 84 is supplied with an operation power through a second power supply path which is different from a first power supply path connected to a power source terminal PB as an output terminal of the MOS module group 3A, 3B. When a voltage of the power source terminal PB exceeds a first threshold value voltage V1, a load dump protection operation is performed. |
