<p>The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling the brightness of a display according to the illuminance of a surrounding environment. A method for controlling a display comprises the steps of: detecting whether a variation in the brightness of the surrounding environment of the apparatus for a predetermined time is a reference value or more; determining the brightness of a display of the apparatus according to the detection result; and when an operation signal of the display is detected, turning on the display according to the determined brightness at a detected time point.</p> |
