SEWING MACHINE, THROAT PLATE STRUCTURE, AND METHOD FOR SEWING ELEMENT SERIES

This sewing machine has: a throat plate (40), at the base (41) of which an element-series-guide groove (42) is indented; a sewing needle; a sewing machine pedal (32); and a feed dog (50) that appears/recedes above the throat plate (40). The sewing needle has a single sewing machine needle (31) that sews one of an intermeshed pair of element series (20). The feed dog (50) has: a first support (52) that supports the other element series (20); and a plurality of first locking claws (53) protruding from the first support (52). The spacing between the first locking claws (53) is provided with dimensions at which a plurality of fastener elements (22) can be interposed and held. By means of such a sewing machine, it is possible to smoothly and stably sew one of an intermeshed pair of continuous element series (20) to an element-clad member (5) in the state of being curved in a desired direction.
