<p>The invention relates to a flow heater (1) and to a method for operating a flow heater having a heat exchanger (2) for heating a liquid flowing through, which heat exchanger has a process water inlet (21) for connecting to a cold water line (31) and a process water outlet (22) for connecting to a hot water line (32), wherein a controller is provided for regulating an external temperature of the output liquid. To permit operation of the flow heater also with the cold water line (31) connected to the process water outlet (22) and the hot water line (32) connected to the process water inlet (21), a temperature sensor (6) is arranged at the process water inlet (21). Here, the actual temperature of the liquid is regulated to a predefined setpoint temperature as a function of the throughflow direction through the heat exchanger (2).</p> |
