<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for desulfurizing molten steel, by which S concentration in the steel can be controlled at high precision by quickly and accurately analyzing the S concentration in the molten steel sample extracted before completing secondary refining after a converter molten-steel tapping, and to provide a method for manufacturing the molten steel by using the method for desulfurizing the molten steel. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for desulfurizing the molten steel and the manufacturing method for the molten steel, in the method for secondary refining of the molten steel tapped off from the converter, when analyzing the S concentration in a sample extracted from the molten steel during refining to determine the subsequent desulfurization treatment condition based on the analyzed value thereof, the analysis of the S concentration are performed by an analyzing method including: a high-frequency induction heating process, in which the S in the molten steel is changed into SO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>by oxidizing the sample by the high-frequency induction heating under pure-oxygen atmosphere; and an analyzing process, in which the S concentration in the sample is quantified by analyzing SO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-containing gas generated in the high-frequency induction heating process by an ultraviolet-fluorescence method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
