A device for use in carrying a child securely on adults shoulder comprising a seat (A1) for the child that is attached to a harness that is worn by the adult, the seat (A1) is positioned so that the legs of the child rest upon the shoulders of the adult (see figure 2). The seat section and the back (G, fig 1), shoulder and chest area (C, fig 1) of the harness is moulded as a single unit. Preferably the seat unit has a three point safety harness for securing the child and an adjustable telescopic headrest (A2). The cheat are of the harness worn by the adult may have leg supports (G1b, G1c, fig 1), and the straps (D1, D2, fig1) of the harness may have thumb loops (E1, E2, E3, E4, fig 1) to allow the adult to support their arms.
