<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjuster capable of avoiding generation of noise. <P>SOLUTION: In a planetary gear 50, a drive-side external gear portion 52 is fitted to a drive-side internal gear portion 18 of a drive rotor 10 rotating in synchronization with a crankshaft, and a driven-side external gear portion 54 is fitted to a driven-side internal gear portion 22 of a driven rotor 20 rotating in synchronization with a cam shaft 2. A cocoon spring 70 placed between the planetary gear 50 and a planetary carrier 40 for supporting the planetary gear 50 inclines to the outer peripheral side with distance toward an actuator 4 side from the cam shaft 2 side. By the thrust-component force F<SB POS="POST">st</SB>of biasing force F<SB POS="POST">s</SB>of the cocoon spring 70, the planetary gear 50 makes a sun-and-planet motion with a stepped surface portion 57 in contact with a contact surface portion 25 of the driven rotor 20. By holding a contact state between the stepped surface portion 57 and the contact surface portion 25, collision of the planetary gear 50 against the driven rotor 20 as the cause of the noise generation is inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
