1. A device, comprising:
an electrode, including at least one of a cathode or an anode including silicon or germanium nanowires, having a composite that includes a lithiated sulfur-based material, having Li2Sx in the form of lithium-sulfide or lithium-polysulfide, and a porous carbon-based structure having pores between 1 nm and 10 μm in diameter and in which structure the sulfur-based material is located, wherein the lithiated sulfur-based material and the nanowires are configured and arranged with physical properties manifesting in a first charge voltage of the electrode that is substantially higher than all subsequent charge voltages. |
