PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing power capacity required of a charge/discharge circuit.SOLUTION: A converter 3 performs full-wave rectification on single phase voltage Vin and outputs rectification voltage Vrec between DC power supply lines LL, LH. An inverter 5 receives the rectification voltage Vrec and supplies three phase AC current Iu, Iv, Iw to an inductive load 6. A charge/discharge circuit 4 is connected between the DC power supply lines LL, LH. The charge/discharge circuit 4 includes a buffer circuit 4a and booster circuit 4b. The buffer circuit 4a includes a capacitor C4 and switch Sc which are serially connected. The booster circuit 4b is composed of, for example, a booster chopper and includes a switch Sl, reactor L4, and diode D40. The charge/discharge circuit 4 between the DC power supply lines LL, LH gives and receives part of power pulses input to the converter 3. |
