PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry low-grade coal, especially low-grade coal of a high water content and suppress pyrophoricity.SOLUTION: Low-grade coal is subjected to a drying treatment by an indirect heating drier through a constant-rate drying section to a decreasing-rate drying section, while adjusting the surface temperature of the low-grade coal at the port of the indirection heating drier to higher than 95°C and equal to or lower than 120°C and the oxygen concentration of a carrier gas discharged from the indirect heating drier to 7-12%, based on the moist gas. |
