<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam-forming device and a method thereof which can reduce a dynamic time delay range and size of a delay line by dividing transducers in one-dimensional or two-dimensional arrangement into a plurality of blocks, calculating a delay profile (delay time) for each block, and performing beam-forming for each block in correspondence with the calculated delay profile.SOLUTION: A beam-forming device for performing beam-forming on each signal transmitted and received through a probe including a plurality of transducer blocks consisting of a plurality of transducers, includes: a control part which performs control so as to delay signals transmitted from the plurality of transducers constituting the transducer blocks or signals received by the plurality of transducers constituting the transducer blocks; and an analog beam former which has a plurality of beam-forming parts corresponding to each transducer block and performing analog beam-forming on the signals transmitted and received through the plurality of transducers constituting each transducer block in response to the control signal transmitted from the control part.</p> |
