PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of reducing an insertion load when inserting a water jacket spacer into a water jacket, and capable of securing heat retaining properties of a wall part of a cylinder bore.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine 100, a rubber seal 4 is provided on a cylinder bore side of a spacer 3, a rubber seal 5 is provided on the opposite side from the cylinder bore of the spacer 3 and the rubber seal 4 is arranged at a position higher than the rubber seal 5. Also, a first supply passage 6 for supplying cooling water via a lower side flow passage 22 is connected to a bore side flow passage 23 of a water jacket 2, a second supply passage 8 for supplying the cooling water is connected to an upper side flow passage 21, and a valve 7 for supplying or blocking the cooling water is provided in the first supply passage 6. |
